Madison (WXOW)- Help is being offered to maple syrup producers in the state who've found themselves in a sticky situation.
14 Wisconsin counties have been declared natural disaster areas by the USDA. Barron, Polk and St. Croix counties are included on that list.
The move allows producers to become eligible for low-interest emergency loans. Warm temperatures this spring led to very low maple syrup production, specifically in the northern part of the state.
