Holmen, Onalaska Legion ready to square off at state

Onalaska, WISCONSIN (WXOW)  Holmen and Onalaska have a chance to extend their rivalry on the diamond.

They're ranked number one and four respectively in the state in Class AA.

They meet Friday in the first round of the state tournament.

Both teams have by far the most wins of any other team in the 8-team field.

Holmen is coming off a regional championship win over Onalaska in Baraboo on Monday.

Regardless, one good team is going to be on the brink of elimination after Friday's game early on in the double elimination tournament.

"I've seen a lot of these state tournaments where the favorite or the best team in there is the first team out. We got to play well. You play well you have a good chance to win no matter who you're playing. You play poorly you're going to lose. It doesn't matter who you're playing," said Holmen head coach Duane Vike.

Friday's game start at 5:30pm at the Onalaska Legion Field.
