
LA CROSSE, Wisconsin (WXOW) - All are welcome to attend an interfaith peace vigil in La Crosse tonight (8/8) to remember the victims of the Oak Creek Sikh Temple shooting.
Doors will open at 6pm at Wesley United Methodist Church at 721 King Street.
Faith leaders from across the city will be participating including: Rev. Kent Johnson, La Crosse Interfaith Peace & Justice Network; Dr. Haleem Rasool & Dr. Abdulaziz Elfessi, Othman Bin Affan Mosque; Bishop Jim Arends & Rev. Elizabeth Howe, La Crosse Area Synod ELCA; Jeff Dols, Franciscan Spirituality Center' Rabbi Simcha Prombaum, Congregation of Sons of Abraham; and Rev. Ellen Rasmussen, Wesley UMC.
The service will begin at 6:30 PM.
Dr Jeff Su, Diamond Way Buddhist Center, will contribute a reflection and Lynn Biddick will provide a musical tribute.
An offering will be collected to benefit the Sikh community in Oak Creek.
