Crash knocks out power; one arrested

Town of Ettrick, WI (WXOW) - An Ettrick man is arrested after officers say he crashed his truck, knocking out power to several home.

The Trempealeau County Sheriff's Department says Mark Nelson was traveling on County Road C near LeQue Lane in the Town of Ettrick, when he crossed the center line, leaving the roadway and entered a ditch.

Upon entering the ditch the truck struck a power pole and rolled.

Officers say Nelson and his passenger, Chris Lein of rural Taylor were ejected from the vehicle.

They were transported to a hospital with non-life threatening injures.

Authorities say Nelson is facing charges for operating a vehicle while intoxicated and failure to have the vehicle under control.

Power was restored shortly after the crash.
