Holmen, WISCONSIN (WXOW) Holmen will try to continue a nice run of recent success this season.
The Vikings have finished 4-2 or better in the MVC in each of the last three seasons.
They return 12 starters from a team that went 5-1 in conference last year, losing out to Tomah for the MVC title.
Most of the players back are from the skill positions.
This years success may hinge on how quickly the big guys up front come together.
"We have some very good skill kids. We have a lot of team speed. I have to find some offensive linemen. I lost 4 pretty good offensive lineman last year. But the rest of the team looks pretty solid. Even our back-ups are looking pretty good," said head coach Steve King.
"I'm the only returning lineman so we're looking for some underclassman to step up. We've got a few guys that have a lot of potential. We're going to be solid," said senior Jared Gillmore.
Only Logan has had a better record in the MVC over the last three years than Holmen.
The Vikings kickoff their season at Chippewa Falls.
