
La Crosse, WI (WXOW) ----- Local religious groups organized an Interfaith Peace Vigil tonight at Wesley United Methodist Church in La Crosse.
6 candles sat on the altar to represent the victims who of the gunmen's rampage in Oak Creek, Wisconsin.
This community is no stranger to tragedy. A few months ago they held a vigil for Sara Hougom, the young woman gunned down in her apartment.
One of the organizers, Pastor Ellen Rasmussen says now more than ever the community needs this.
An offering was collected to benefit the Sikh community in Oak Creek.
8 local religions were represented to send a message of unity and tolerance.
