Cilantro sold in MN, WI possibly contaminated with salmonella

ST. PAUL, Minn. (KTTC) -- The Minnesota Department of Agriculture is warning not to eat fresh cilantro sold at certain stores in southeastern Minnesota and western Wisconsin because of possible salmonella contamination.

The fresh cilantro was sold in bunches that were shipped to retailers in Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Michigan between July 26 and Aug. 6.

The cilantro was sold at the following area stores:

Harmony Foods

Lake City Fiesta

Preston Foods

Red Wing Buchanan Grocery

Rushford Foods

Spring Valley Sunshine Foods

The Minnesota Department of Agriculture told stores that have the cilantro to remove the product from their shelves.

If you bought the cilantro bunches, you're advised to throw them out or return them to the store for a refund.

No illnesses have been reported. The source of the cilantro is not known.
