LA CROSSE, Wisconsin (WXOW) - The Rangers are brought to you this year by the number three.
Logan finished the MVC season 3-3 in 2011 and return three starters on offense and three on defense. So, Head Coach Casey Knoble said they'll rely on a mix of their top three classes to contend for a Mississippi Valley Title.
Knoble said, "We're going to have to hold people to a couple of touchdowns a game here. Our defense is going to have to be real solid and take care of the football. That's really what we preach here every day."
"A lot of guys got heart," said senior Bryce Crowley. "We've been in the weight room all winter, all summer working our butts off, and we're going to see what happens. I think we'll be up there."
One advantage they have this year over last year is the having Knoble in his sophomore year as head coach. And, although he has been there much longer as an assistant players said experience at the helm helps.
Senior Sam Leinfelder said, "Yeah a little bit. [We're] just trying to get used to the routine. We've got the same drills, a couple of new ones also, but he likes to work us pretty hard."
"He's been our gym teacher, and he's always been at practice with us, so we're familiar with him," Crowley added. "But, he's been there last year and we all really liked him."
