
UTICA, Minn (KTTC) -- Winona County has received its first permit application for a frac sand mine.
The Winona Daily News reports the 20-acre mine is proposed for Saratoga Township outside of Utica.
Trucks would travel on County Road 33 and on Highway 14 into Winona.
The Winona County Planning Commission will discuss the frac sand mine proposal at its meeting Aug. 16.
