La Crosse, WI (WXOW)-- Irishfest wrapped up at the Oktoberfest grounds Sunday.
This year's fest included Irish foods like Irish beef stew. The annual fest also hosts the Highland Games, a series of competitions celebrating Scottish and Celtic culture. There were also "wee games" for kids, and a genealogy tent, where visitors could learn about their Irish heritage.
"It's a celebration of the Irish culture and the Irish contribution to the American way of life," said Pat Stephens, president of Irishfest. "There's some 75 million Americans who can trace their roots of some sort back to Ireland. So, there's always a great interest in the Irish culture."
