La Crosse, WISCONSIN (WXOW) They're underway at UW-La Crosse.
The Eagles opened training camp last night with 6 players back who earned some kind of all-conference honor last year.
This is the 2nd season for head coach Joel Dettwiler.
He's already noticed a change from this point last year.
"This practice, when you walked out before we started, there's people working. Last year they were standing around. There's much less frustration on my part. But there's also better communication, things that I learned that I can get better at as a coach. They will help us get better as a team," Dettwiler said.
The Eagles finished 3-7 last season.
This year, they won't play a home game until October 6th.
They open the season at North Central College September 1st.
