La Crosse, WISCONSIN (WXOW) Aquinas is anxious to erase the memories of last year's 2-7 record.
They have a good group of corps players returning, including their quarterback Michael Conway.
Conway missed two full games last year after injuring his shoulder.
He needed surgery and a long rehab.
The 6-foot, 5-inch senior is on the radar of many division two colleges and even some division ones.
For now, he's content with guiding the Blugolds to a big season.
"We can make a step up. We've been playing together for a long time. Last year we all played together and got another year of knowledge. I feel this year we're close as a group," Conway said.
"He can throw the ball 60 yards in the air and put it right on the money. He's 6' 5" and 215 pounds and can run. So all those things factor in," said head coach Dan Coughlin.
The Blugolds open the season Saturday, August 25th at home against Pacelli.
