Madison, WI (WXOW) -A former La Crosse Police officer is sentenced Friday for violating state and federal wildlife laws.
A State Judge ordered 43-year-old Corrie Korn to pay a $5,000 fine and cease any hunting or guiding activities related to hunting for two years.
Korn, along with 42-year-old Faling Yang, were found guilty in March of killing ducks in 2009 while they were operating a hunting guide company.
Magistrate Judge Stephen Crocker told Korn that his voluntary resignation from the police force showed that he fully accepted the serious nature of his conduct and thus did not merit a term of incarceration.
On May 16, Yang was sentencing the same as Korn, reflecting his equal role in this offense.
