G-E-T shifting gears on offense

Posted:

Galesville, WISCONSIN (WXOW)  Those who've followed G-E-T football over the years may not recognize the team when they take the field this Friday in the season opener.

The Red Hawks are airing it out.

After years as primarily a running team G-E-T will throw more this season by going to the spread offense.

G-E-T's depth at the receiver position led to the change.

Mix in plenty of team speed and Red Hawks are excited about what the makeover could bring.

"We've got some athletes out there. Our line is pretty athletic. Our linebackers can run too. We got some athletes on the field and hopefully they can fly around and make some plays," said head coach Jon Steffenhagen.

"It's new. I've always been going through high school as a running team. There's a learning curve but it's a lot of fun," said senior guard/linebacker Cole Piddington.

G-E-T's new offense gets it's first test run Friday night when they host Prairie du Chien.
