LA CROSSE, WI (WXOW)—Wednesday afternoon, Children's Miracle Network kicked off the ‘Race to 100K,' a fundraising event leading up to the big Radiothon in November.
CMN has launched a new program called the Children's Miracle Network Hospitals Heroes.
It features local children that have been helped by the organization.
This year's heroes are Emma Groll, Caleb Berger, Jonas Kugler, Lindsay Schmidt and Abel David Boettcher.
Each of the children has been teamed up with a local sponsor to raise as much money as they can from now until the Radiothon.
During the Radiothon listeners will be asked to call in and work together to match the amount of money each child's team rose during the ‘Race to 100K.'
"For the kids this year is extra special because we're creating these teams and these heroes but what it really means for these families is they know they're going to get the support if they need it," Debbie Brague, Operations Manager, La Crosse Radio Group said.
The Radiothon is scheduled for November 1-3; all money raised in our area helps local kids.
