LA CRESCENT, MN (WXOW)—Ready Bus Line recommends that parents of school aged children heading back to school on the bus re-emphasize the rules.
Tom Ready, Ready Bus Line owner, said students should be out at the stop five minutes early, they should keep out of the danger zone, around the front and back wheels, kids should sit down in the seat with their back pack in their lap and sit in the front portions of the bus.
"A lot of serious accidents have happened where buses have been stopped and discharged and kids have gotten hurt in the back of the bus. So we have a company policy to keep kids out of the back four seats," Ready said.
Another thing to remind your children is to pay attention and know where they are so they don't miss their bus stop.
He said for younger kids, write their address on their backpack in case they forget where they live.
But, for the most part, none of the bus rules have changed so veteran riders should already be prepared.
"And we've got very good kids on our buses in our district and they get along well with the drivers, so we really haven't had any discipline problems, so we're really proud of the kids that do ride the buses," Ready said.
