La Crosse, WI (WXOW)— La Crosse residents celebrated Labor Day with a parade.
Various unions and labor organizations walked, along with firefighters and area teachers. They were joined by drum lines and dance teams from local schools. Kids along the route had plenty of chances to collect candy.
Labor day celebrations then continued at Copeland Park. There were games for both the parade's participants and its spectators. Plus, one final summer cookout before schools start up Tuesday.
The La Crosse Firefighters Local 127 also hosted bingo.
"Today we're celebrating labor with labor fest," said Lance Tryggestad, President of the La Crosse Firefighters 127. "So it's a great family event to come down and celebrate labor and what it's meant to our country."
