
HILLSBORO (WKOW) – Hillsboro police arrested a 51-year-old man of rural Hillsboro for his 11th alleged operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated (OWI) offense.
Police say Jeffrey J. Varnes was seen driving his vehicle on the wrong side of a state highway, against traffic. Varnes was out on bond for a previous arrest of OWI, as well as felony bail jumping, and miscellaneous traffic citations resulting from the most recent traffic stop, according to police.
Varnes was booked into the Vernon County Jail. He had a bond hearing at the Vernon County Courthouse on Tuesday, September 4, and was held on a $10,000 cash bond.
