Express site allows donors to stay on the south side

LA CROSSE, Wisconsin (WXOW)- A new Goodwill donation site and store will be opening in the old Quillin's building on the south side of La Crosse next spring.  In the meantime, Goodwill has provided a unique and convenient way for donors on the south side to drop off their donations, as well as promote their presence at the future location.

The 'mobile express donation site' is in the parking lot in front of the future location, next to the intersection of Losey Boulevard and Mormon Coulee Road.  Donors will find a set of semi trailers parked in the parking lot, acting as a drop-off donation location.  The site works the same as the La Crosse and Onalaska drop-off areas: donors can pull up in their vehicle, unload their donation to the team member on duty, received a receipt if they wish, and drive away.

The Goodwill team members then sort the donations in the trailer, and when the trailer is full, the next trailer in line opens, providing a seamless operation similar to the permanent sites on the north side and Onalaska.  The only restriction is that furniture and large items will not be accepted at the mobile site out of concern for the team members' health and safety.  Furniture and large objects will still be accepted at the Onalaska and La Crosse Goodwill sites.

The trailers are open 7 days a weeks, and will operate through October.  Starting in November, the new south side Goodwill will be opening the donation drop-off area.  The new site, including the store, will be fully open next spring.
