Firefighters raise money for Muscular Dystrophy

LA CROSSE, WI (WXOW)—La Crosse Firefighters Local 127 are working on their annual fundraiser Fill the Boot.

They're standing along Losey Boulevard asking motorists for donations for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

The firefighters are trying to raise $15,000.

All of the money raised will stay in the coulee region.

Lance Tryggestad, President La Crosse Firefighters Local 127, said watching people put money in their boots is a great feeling.

"There's tons of charities in our community and everyone seems to give on everything so it's a great event," Tryggestad said.

They'll be out on Losey Boulevard on the corners of State Road and Mormon Coulee Road collecting money again on Saturday from 1:00 to 3:30 p.m.
