Pedestrian Hit by Vehicle Wednesday Dies in Hospital

LA CROSSE, Wisconsin (WXOW) -- The La Crosse man struck by a vehicle just before 5:30 a.m. Wednesday Morning has passed away. 

La Crosse Police say 49-year old Bernard Lawrence died at roughly 10 a.m. Friday morning. 

Lawrence was hit by a pickup truck at the intersection of Mormon Coulee Rd. and 33rd St. 

The investigation into the crash is ongoing, but police have so far not issued any traffic citations.

La Crosse, WI (WXOW) - We now know the name of the man critically injured when he was struck by a car on Mormon Coulee Road Wednesday morning.

Police identify the victim as 49 year old Bernard Lawrence of La Crosse.

The accident happened at 5:30am and closed a portion of Mormon Coulee Road for more than two hours. Police are still investigating who was at fault.

Lawrence lives in an apartment near where the collision happened.
