LA CROSSE, WISCONSIN (WXOW)-- Goodwill wrapped up a week-long clothing drive on Sunday.
There are three Goodwill drop-off locations: Theater Road in Onalaska, Bridgeview Plaza in La Crosse, and a donation truck is parked on the Southside by the old Quillin's.
This is an important time of year for goodwill to stalk up, between the back-to-school rush and the start of cooler weather. And although Goodwill's main purpose is to provide clothing, the money raised at the store goes to area organizations.
"I think [people] don't fully understand what Goodwill's purpose is," said Bryan Hutschenreuter, who works at Goodwill. "We are a retail store and donation center, but we are not for profit so al the money does go towards programs and services."
Goodwill hasn't determined exactly how much they collected during the drive yet, but the Onalaska store was so busy Saturday, they had to call in more volunteers. And while Sunday was the last day of the donation drive, Goodwill is always accepting drop-offs.
