New ACT exam proposal

Posted:

MADISON, Wisconsin (WXOW) - Every high school student in Wisconsin would take the ACT exam during their junior year under a new proposal by the State Department of Public Instruction.

In the proposal, the ACT would replace the Wisconsin Knowledge Concepts Exam beginning in 2014.

Students in elementary grades would also take a new test designed by a 28-state consortium including Wisconsin.

Before the proposal takes effect, it needs approval from the legislature and governor.
