LA CROSSE, Wisconsin (WXOW) - UW-La Crosse has received top ranks according to the U.S.News & World Report's assessment of public comprehensive universities in the Midwest.
This is the university's 12th year being rated as one of the top four schools in its category.
UW-L Chancellor, Joe Gow, says this ranking reflects skilled instructors that inspire excellence.
"I think our faculty and staff are very devoted to students, and students' success," said Gow. "And then students tell other, you know, family members and friends, "Hey, this is a school where you're going to get some great personalized attention from the faculty and staff." And so we get stronger students then also. And then the numbers reflect that success."
Gow says the greatest challenge facing UW-L is providing competitive compensation to maintain the top rated faculty and staff.
