LA CRESCENT, MINNESOTA (WXOW)-- Three new faces joined the La Crescent School District's "Wall of Excellence" Saturday. The La Crescent-Hokah District created the wall three years ago as a way to honor alumni and local volunteers.
This year's honorees are Dick Brostorm, who is a La Crescent High School alumnus. He graduated in 1980 and went on to earn a medical degree from the University of North Carolina, and Paul and Judy Ulland. The Ullands are both members of the La Crescent-Hokah School District Foundation's Board of Directors.
"This is just an awesome experience of gratitude for us, for living in a community like La Crescent," said Judy Ulland.
"La Crescent has been a wonderful place for our family to grow up, to raise our family," said Paul Ulland. "The school system has been wonderful, so many people, just great neighbors."
Dr. Brostrom agrees, the induction into the wall of excellence is an honor.
"Of course it means something to me personally but I think it also really exemplifies what this community does for the folks who call it home, the folks who grow up here and go to school here in La Crescent," Brostrom said.
All three inductees were honored with a brunch Saturday morning, at the American Legion in La Crescent.
