LA CROSSE, WISCONSIN (WXOW)-- Police say the two victims in Saturday's homicide are 56-year-old Paul Petras, and his son, 19-year-old A.J. Petras. Police say the two were shot and killed inside May's Photo, which Paul owned.
Police say the shooting happened around 2 PM Saturday. That's also the time the store closes. However Paul and A.J.'s bodies were not discovered until just after 5 PM.
Police have not said who found the bodies, but News 19 spoke with the man who made the 911 call from the scene Saturday evening.
"I was outside and from across the street I heard a lady say to call 911 and that someone might be dead inside," said Matthew Brown. "So I ran and called 911. The lady was definitely very frightened. She needed help quick. They [police] were here within a couple of minutes."
As of now police have said if they have any suspects in custody. Police are asking for the public's help in tracking down the person or persons responsible for the shootings. Anyone who was in the area of Main St., between 4th and 5th, Saturday afternoon that saw something suspicious is urged to call them at 608-785-5962.
Anyone who attended a photo class at May's that ended just before 2 PM Saturday is also asked to call. All tips are anonymous.
