Construction worker killed on I-94 Monday morning

EAU CLAIRE, Wisconsin (WXOW) - A construction worker installing guard rails is killed Monday morning along I-94.

The Wisconsin State Patrol reports they were called about 7:20 am to the eastbound lanes near milepost 39 for a man lying on the ground and possibly electrocuted.

The 34-year-old man, whose name has not been released, was taken to Mayo Hospital Menomonie, where he died.

The man, who was working for Highway Technologies replacing guard rails, was found in contact with a piece of construction equipment that had hit an overhead power line.

OSHA is also investigating the incident.
