LA CROSSE, Wisconsin (WXOW) - One of the most heavily abused prescription drugs is oxycontin, which goes by the street name "kickers".
Kickers happens to be the title of a film made by a group of students from Central High School.
A couple of years ago, some students from Central made a film called "Consequences." That film inspired this group of students to make another film which shows the dangers and consequences of abusing prescription drugs. Ron Haese, director of "Consequences," was called to take the lead on this new film.
Haese said, "I have done so many films where kids are always off laughing and its hard to keep their attention. These kids, out of all the films I've done, so focused and so professional. And they really wanted to get this message out."
Ron added that the students gave their time to shoot this over the summer, showing their dedication to getting the message out about prescription drug abuse.
