LA CROSSE, WISCONSIN (WXOW)-- While police continue to investigate Saturday's double homicide, funeral services for Paul and A.J. Petras are set for Friday.
News 19 spoke with Pastor Meredith McGrath, who will lead tomorrow's service. She says Paul and A.J. did not attend the church, but some Petras family members do.
When speaking with the anyone struggling with this case, McGrath says people want to know why. What she tells them is sometimes there just isn't a reason, and that's something she talked to the family about.
"This is one of those situations that leaves people asking why, and I don't think there's a good answer to why," McGrath said. "Some things are just tragic."
Pastor McGrath says while talking to the Petras family, she's been able to learn more about Paul and A.J.
"That these were kind men, gracious men, gentlemen," McGrath said. "That they were just warmhearted and people that loved their family and the work that they did, and be able as a father and son, to work together."
The service begins at 11 AM.
