LA CROSSE, Wisconsin (WXOW) - A jury is selected Thursday for the trial of a man accused of strangling a woman death in March.
Izelia Golatt, 45, and dressed in a suit, sat facing potential jurors in a La Crosse County courtroom.
In all, 14 people were chosen. Two of the people picked will become alternates.
Golatt is charged with first degree intentional homicide in the death of 35-year-old Kristen Rodgers. Her body was found in an alley off of Caledonia Street on March 6th.
Prosecutors, based on details in the criminal complaint, will argue that Golatt killed Rodgers over drugs. At previous court hearings leading up to Thursday's jury selection, the defense will claim Rodgers died of a drug overdose.
The trial is scheduled to start Monday morning and continue through the week.
