La Crosse, WI (WXOW) - A La Crosse County Board member accused of soliciting a prostitute is resigning.

Police say 48-year-old Bill Brockmiller is one of five men that was arrested in August after they responded to an Internet ad offering sexual services in exchange for money.

Police posted the Internet advertisement and set up a sting operation at a local hotel.

Brockmiller currently represents the Eleventh District on the La Crosse County Board.

His last day will be September 30th.

County Board Chair Tara Johnson says they are looking to fill the open position.

Anyone interested must be a qualified elector of Supervisory District 11. They can apply by October 19th to the County Board Chair office.
