Two injured in Monroe County crash

SPARTA, Wisconsin (WXOW) - Two people, one a baby, are injured in a van crash Friday morning between Sparta and Cataract.

Monroe County Sheriff Pete Quirin states that a van driven by 21-year-old Ashla Shultz of Tomah went off of Highway 27 near Dallas Avenue in the Town of Little Falls around 8:43 a.m.

The van traveled along a ditch line until it hit a driveway embankment.  The van went airborne for approximately 120 feet before landing on the passenger side.

Schultz was airlifted by Med Link to Gundersen Lutheran in La Crosse with what are described as serious injuries. A 13-month-old baby in the van went by ambulance to Gundersen Lutheran with non-life threatening injuries.
