Suspect arrested in reported hostage situation in Fairchild

Fairchild (WQOW) - An alleged hostage situation in Fairchild ends peacefully.

It happened Friday night around 9:30. The Eau Claire County Sheriff's Department got a call of a domestic dispute at a trailer on Camp Road in Fairchild. The caller reported that a man had pulled a woman inside a trailer at knife point. The Eau Claire County SWAT team was called out, along with the county's armored vehicle. Neighboring trailers were evacuated after several attempts to contact the male and female inside.

"As the tactical team was coming down the road, both the male and female exited and the officers told them to put their hands in the air. They complied, and they were taken into custody at that point with no altercation whatsoever," said Eau Claire County Sheriff Ron Cramer.

The 19-year-old suspect's name is not being released. The woman, his 23-year-old girlfriend, was not injured. The suspect was arrested, and is expected to be charged with disorderly domestic dispute among other charges. The sheriff says guns and a knife were found inside the home. The sheriff's department is still working on the case. More information is expected to be released later.

Eau Claire County Sheriff Ron Cramer said police originally received a phone call at about 9:30 of a domestic dispute at a trailer home on Camp Road in Fairchild. During a sweep of the trailer home, an officer saw what  Cramer described as a possible illegal weapon and drug paraphernalia.
