ONALASKA, WI (WXOW)—Students from struggling families in Onalaska will get some help from a new program called Acts of Kindness.
The La Crosse Community Foundation is helping the Onalaska Education Foundation start the new program.
It provides all public and private schools in Onalaska with a gift card to buy things like clothes, alarm clocks and personal hygiene products for students in need.
The La Crosse Community Foundation is matching all money the Onalaska Education Foundation raises, up to $6,500.
"A lot of schools already, the teachers already help out the kids," Barb Abbott, Treasurer, Onalaska Education Foundation said. "But now, they know they've got support and this year we're matching funds so the teachers see that need and know we can do more."
For more information on donating to Acts of Kindness call the Onalaska Education Foundation at (608) 781-9700 or click here to visit their web site.
