Man who just started work accused of stealing from employer

WAUSAU, Wisconsin (WAOW) - A man who just started work at Taco John's is accused of stealing hundreds of dollars from that restaurant.

It happened Monday around 2:30 p.m. Everest Metro Police say Michael Furger, 26, opened the cash register, took money out, and ran. Police say around 8:40 p.m., they found Furger passed out at Landmark Apartments on Scott Street in one of the bathroom stalls.

Police say Furger faces a theft charge. They say he admitted to stealing $465 from the Schofield restaurant. Police say Furger is in custody.
