Viroqua, Wisconsin (WXOW)- A correction on a story we reported Wednesday concerning Readstown, Police Chief Shay Larson.
On Wednesday a jury found Mr. Larson guilty of three felony counts of misconduct in office.
New 19 reported that one of those charges involved inappropriate sexual contact with a woman while on duty. That was incorrect. There was no evidence in these charges involving any inappropriate sexual contact with anyone.
Shay Larson faces separate charges in a different case with six misdemeanors including counts of fourth degree sexual assault. That case remains to be resolved.
Mr. Larson is currently free on signature bond.
Wednesday's verdict was not connected with those charges. Mr. Larson is still employed as Readstown Police Chief but he is currently on administrative leave without pay. We regret our error.
