Wildfire causes numerous crashes in Monroe Co.

NEAR WARRENS, Wisconsin (WXOW) - Law enforcement officers have closed a section of a highway in Monroe County after a number of crashes caused by a smoky wildfire.

According to the Wisconsin State Patrol, Highway 173 near Warrens is closed from Highway 21 to County HH due to the fire. A release from the WSP says it may be closed for several hours.

Monroe County Sheriff Pete Quirin says there are multiple crashes, some with injuries as a result of the fire.
