Township of Scott, Wisconsin (WXOW) - One person is dead and two others injured in a crash in Monroe County.
The crash happened shortly after 8 o'clock Friday morning on State Highway 173 in the Township of Scott.
The Monroe County Sheriff's Department said two women were pinned between two vehicles when one was hit by a third vehicle.
The Sheriff's Department says 61-year Suzanne Becker and 34-year-old Melissa Mundo were standing on the roadway between the two vehicles when the third vehicle, driven by 57-year-old David Peiper, struck one of the standing cars, pushing it into both Becker and Mundo.
The Monroe County Sheriff's Department said Mundo was killed, Becker was transported by helicopter with life threatening injures and Peiper sustained minor injures.
Authorities said visibility on State Highway 173 was poor due to smoke from a nearby grass fire.
The crash remains under investigation by the Monroe County Sheriff's Department and the Wisconsin State Patrol.
