LA CROSSE, Wisconsin (WXOW) - A brat isn't hard to come by this Oktoberfest.
Except if it's a massive, six-foot, 60 found brat.
The La Crosse American legion hosted an Oktoberfest fundraiser Friday morning.
All proceeds will go to help local veterans and children.
"It's important because we're here to help the veterans and children in our community do the things we can't normally do," said David Johnson, commander of the La Crosse American Legion Post 52. "You know, if there's things in the school they can't do, we hope the schools will come to us and ask us to help raise the money."
The brat, made by Bakalars Sausage, took about six and a half hours to cook.
Five people stayed overnight to monitor it.
The American Legion is Post 52.
Fittingly, the brat was named B-52.
It was served in bite-sized portions to attendees.
