LA CROSSE, Wisconsin (WXOW) - A lot of people camp out overnight to reserve spots for the Maple Leaf Parade, and all that sitting and waiting around for the start can be hard for kids.
That got a group of physical education majors at UW-La Crosse thinking, and they opted to set up games for the kids to play in the "Family Friendly Zone."
It's a smoke and drink-free area of the parade route designed for families.
The games not only kept kids entertained, it also gave them the chance to hang out with the UW-L students.
