A Marshfield man has been arrested after police say he doused a woman with gasoline and threatened to set her on fire.
It happened Saturday, September 29, at 4:15 p.m. Marshfield police say the 23-year-old man doused a 28-year-old Marshfield woman in gasoline, threatened to burn her, and punched her in the stomach several times.
Police say the woman is pregnant. They say she tried to escape several times, but was unable to. Police say the man even strangled the woman at one point.
The man was taken to the Marathon County Jail. Marshfield police say he faces charges of attempted abortion, first degree recklessly endangering safety, false imprisonment, and strangulation.
Police say he was also found possessing heroin and will face drug charges as well.
