LA CROSSE, WI (WXOW)-- Another Oktoberfest tradition continued Tuesday as children with special needs gathered at the south side fest grounds for Special Fester Day.
The event invites children from local school districts and other organizations to take part.
Adults helped the children enjoy carnival rides, play games, listen to music and eat some fest food.
But each child had his or her favorite part.
"Pick a duck," Hunter Nehring, Prairie View Elementary said. "Because I get to pick ducks."
"The rides," Shayla Hodgins, Holmen Middle School said. "The one that goes like the tilter whirl."
"Funtastic," Shariel Gillespie, Central High School said. "I love rides and I love to have fun. Fun is my deal. I like fun."
The special fester event began in 1988.
