SPARTA, Wisconsin (WXOW) - A five-year-old boy gets bumped by a school bus Wednesday afternoon in Sparta.
According to Sparta Police Sgt. Joel Ames, the child had just gotten off the bus at the corner of South Water St. and E. Averill St. As the child then crossed in front of the bus, the bus moved forward and hit the child, knocking him to the ground.
The bus driver then stopped the bus before moving any further forward.
EMT's treated the boy at the scene before he was released to his mother.
Sgt. Ames says the driver and bus company are cooperating with the investigation.
Police say they won't release any names while the investigation is underway.
