Jumpstart's National Read for the Record Day

Onalaska, Wisconsin (WXOW) - The students of Northern Hills Elementary School in Onalaska took part in a record attempt, by reading "Lady Bug Girl and The Bug Squad".

As part of Jumpstart's National Read for the Record Day, each student read the book during the day.

The idea is to promote kids reading and continuing to read for pleasure throughout life, which some teachers did by dressing up as characters from the book.

Last year 2.2 million people world wide took part in read for the record and this year the school district hopes to top that number.
