LA CRESCENT, Minnesota (WXOW) An Onalaska woman is facing a number of charges in connection with the unauthorized use of La Crescent School District money.
Police arrested district accounts payable clerk Mary Chris Turner in connection with the missing money. According to a statement of probable cause filed Houston County Court, the missing money amounts to more than $200 thousand.
According to that probable cause statement, Turner admitted she took and would be responsible for $202, 618. The statement says Turner told police she had been taking money for five to ten years.
The statement filed in court says the District discovered the missing funds during a random audit. Turner is facing four counts in connection with the missing funds, including theft and embezzlement.
