Eau Claire (WQOW) – Dry, windy conditions have more fire departments issuing burn bans.
Right now the fire danger in west-central Wisconsin is listed as very high, with a majority of the state at the high level. Because of the conditions, Buffalo and Eau Claire counties say they will not be issuing burning permits.
Buffalo County also has a burn ban in effect. Earlier this week, Chippewa County banned all outdoor fires with the exception of fires used for cooking. The rules will remain in effect until the fire danger drops.
