LA CROSSE, Wisconsin (WXOW) - Lane closures on a one-block stretch of South Avenue in La Crosse begin Oct. 7 to accommodate connection of Gundersen Lutheran's steam system in the hospital to the East Building steam system.
South Avenue will be reduced to a single lane in the southbound direction Oct. 7 through next Sunday.
Then, beginning next Sunday, the street will be completely closed and traffic will be detoured until Oct. 22.
The street will be reduced to a single lane in the northbound direction from October 23 through November 10.
When South Avenue closes completely next Sunday, detour signs will be in place.
Truck traffic will be directed to Losey Boulevard and Jackson Street, and all other traffic will be routed to West Avenue and Jackson Street.
