Successful night in Wisconsin for Paul Ryan

Republican vice presidential nominee, Paul Ryan, had a successful Saturday night in Milwaukee, raising $2.8 million according to the Romney campaign's state finance chair.

A ticket for the private event was going for $1,000 a person.  Photos ran $10,000 per couple and dinner was $15,000 per couple. Host committee status was $50,000 per couple and to gain founding partner status it cost $100,000 per couple.

Ryan, a Janesville native, was last in Wisconsin for a September 15 fundraiser in Middleton.

He has another fundraiser scheduled for Sunday in Chicago and is spending some time at his home this weekend, according to his campaign.

Saturday, Ryan addressed 200 supporters for around 11 minutes in a seventh-floor ballroom at the Pfister Hotel.

"We are in this room today to make Mitt Romney the next president of the United States," he told the crowd.

Ryan was joined at the event by fellow Wisconsin native and Republican National Committee chairman Reince Priebus, as well as U.S. Senator from Wisconsin Ron Johnson.

The Republican ticket continues to trail in recent surveys of Wisconsin voters, with an average of the last five polls showing President Obama leading by 6.6% over Republican challenger Mitt Romney

The general election is exactly a month away, set for November 6.
