La Crosse, WISCONSIN (WXOW) UW-La Crosse football is wishing they could take a mulligan last Saturday.
They put up a real clunker in a 40-10 home loss to UW-Platteville.
It went against the trends the team had shown over the first 4 games, which were all close and competitive.
This week they travel to Eau Claire, where the Blugolds have struggled to a 1-4 record.
Coming off a blowout loss will be a character test for the Eagles.
"It's a battle of wills. We talk a lot about how it's a battle of wills during the game. It's also a case when you come off a hard loss. We got blown out. What are you willing to do? Don't tell me you want to do it, show me," said head coach Joel Dettwiler.
"I think it's a big character test to see what the second half of the season is going to be like and how we're actually going to turn this thing around," said tight end Trevor Hutson.
This Saturday's showdown can been seen live on WXOW 19 and www.wxow.com starting at 11am with the pregame show and 11:30 for the kickoff.
