LA CROSSE, Wisconsin (WXOW) - Chancellor Joe Gow said Friday will be the first time a sitting vice president has spoken at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse.
It wasn't until he got the call about Biden's arrival that he realized the impact the visit would have on the university.
"The national media will be saying, ‘Well, where's the vice president? Hey, he's in La Crosse at UW-La Crosse.' So, it is really a privilege to have his visit coming when it does," Gow said.
Wednesday afternoon Gow spoke with Secret Service.
He said his facility and security staff is making sure everything is ready for the vice president's arrival.
Biden will be speaking at the Cartwright Center Friday afternoon.
